Spring Salad Bowl

Spring makes me think of fresh salads- lots of greens and veges, fruit or pasta varieties. Since I love yellow-centered daisies, I put together this plastic salad bowl. The daisy is from the George cartridge, I just love that flower. And since I put a yellow center on it, and the flower has a hole in the middle, the flowers look the same from the inside and outside. I also wanted a non-directional design, so I could flip the bowl over, put a plate on top and have a cute serving pedestal. I'll put it on my Easter table with cream puffs on top!

Peep Peep

Here's a cute Peeps bunny graphic you can use for your Easter projects. Also check out my Peeps project. They are chocolate covered pretzel sticks with a Peeps bunny on top. So cute for your Easter centerpeice...and yummy too!

Irish Soda Bread

I love making irish Soda Bread this time of year. This recipe is a WINNER:
Irish Soda Bread


3 1/2 cups flour
3/4 cup sugar
1 1/4 cups buttermilk
3/4 stick melted butter
1 cup raisins
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 Tbsp baking powder
caraway seeds (optional)

Put all dry ingredients in a bowl including sugar and raisins, make a well and put in buttermilk and melted butter. Mix only until dry ingredients are incorporated. Split into 2 balls. Place on a greased baking sheet. Bake @ 350 50-60 minutes.

I add turbinado (cane sugar) on the top before baking I have also added cranberries and pecans instead of the raisins I do not use caraway seeds because it is more kid-friendly.

I made a plate with vinyl that I like to serve it on. I used the PDDU cart for the images on this one.

Scout Centerpiece

I worked on this scout centerpiece celebrationg the 100 years of scouting! I stacked bakery boxes and used vinyl for the yellow trim and blue lettering. Silk flowers for the top. (two views)
