The Bug Mug

I bought this travel mug at my dollar store (Dollar Tree). They come apart and you can put any design or picture inside the mug so it shows through...so naturally I had to make a Bug Mug! I bought a dozen so I'm sure I'll be making personalized or monogrammed mugs for gifts, and themed mugs for teachers - all with my Cricut of course... --The bug head cut file was originally Jen C.'s (I think) I changed it to work with the carts I had. I'll post the cut file here, but please know it is not my original cut file- I'm not taking credit for it...My version uses Home Accents and Wedding...

Have SCAL2? Trace any image with these easy steps...really it's easy!

Images with little detail work the best - images in silhouette form, just black on white.

1. download a picture on your computer - usually if you see an image you can right click right on top of the image with your mouse, and then choose "save" or "save as" rename it if necessary - you can find images on blogs (my blog here too), websites, all over. Put it in a folder on your computer where you can remember. The image should be in the form of a .jpg or .bmp. I have a separate folder for scal files (and then I categorize my images by category)...

2. open scal 2 (this only works in scal2, don't have scal2? click on the link below to get it...)

3. click on the tree symbol (looks like an apple tree) a the top of the screen

4. it will bring up a search box, now find the file you saved, by clicking BROWSE.

5. once you click it and click OK , it will appear right on the scal screen, you can size and change it as needed.
