Boo - the cutest ghosts ever!

I'm wanting to get into the Halloween mood, so I made these cute ghosts. The adorable faces are from the FACE IT dingbat font. You can get it here for free:

http://www.fontcubes.com/Face-it.font

It has tons of faces and look like the Peachy Keen set of stamps

I used the ghost from the Paper Doll Dress Up cartridge. If you don't have that you can use these:

Here are the SIMPLE basic directions:

Print the face you want onto white cardstock. I used 72 size, but experiment with the sizes

Cut your ghost out of cardstock - preferably a dark color*
*When you cut your ghost, use the upper right corner for the positioning of the ghost (If you are using the PDDU shape you need to "hide" the eyes and mouth using the hide selected contour feature - click on the mouth and then right click, you will see it). After you hit cut, wait until it is done, then DO NOT unload the paper, just pull your ghost shape out of the dark paper and leave the rest on the mat. Now lift the upper right corner where your silhouette cut is and slip your white cardstock underneath the cut out shape until it is in the position that you want. Press the white cardstock well and only now lift your dark color. Now hit LOAD LAST and then cut or repeat last. It will cut your white cardstock with the same shape and your face will be on it.

Experiment with different faces and different shapes, such as the paper dolls or even some of the cute animals.

These are so fun!!

A great new resource

I found a great website for free shapes to cut with SCAL.

http://www.spraypaintstencils.com/categories.html

When you click on an image you want it comes in coloring book format. I prefer to "fill it in" in Microsoft Paint before I use it in SCAL.

For example:

Here is the stencil as it is saved:

Then you use the paint bucket and fill in the sections you want and then resave it (I would continue to fill in all of the sections):

Hope you find these helpful!

With school right around the corner (still 6 weeks to go here), I am thinking of school supplies. the cute clear zip bags I made for the beach and pool are now repurposed to the back to school mode. I am making them for my son and his friends, and then I come to find out it is actually required to have a zip pouch on their supply list, YES, check that one off. I am giving away 4 clear zip bags for you to vinyl. I will give 2 winners 2 bags each.

To enter to win, just leave a comment here on this post with what your favorite snack or food is to cool down. We're onto our 4th heat wave here, so I need all the tips I can get. Good luck!

I am going to start a new blog feature. Weekly dingbats. I will feature a free dingbat that I think is great for cutting on the Cricut. You can find it by doing a Google search for the name. This weeks is GG SignDings. With summer travel in full swing, thought this would be an appropriate start.

"CLEARLY" a good idea

I found these clear pencil cases at the Dollar Tree. They looked less schoolish than the other ones, because I thought they would be great for the beach and pool. Great for keeping things dry in the beach bag. You could put electronics, money, lotions, glasses, books, anything in here. I like that they are clear, because you are always digging for stuff in your bag, now you can see it. The vinyl (outdoor vinyl) went on perfectly. I made some wiht our pool logo on them and I can think of lots more ideas too!
