Happy Halloween

These are donut hole eyes I made for an event today. Just got the donut holes at the store (we could only find glazed, so we rolled them in powered sugar). Then I used a little frosting to stick the candy eyes on them. Cool huh, and tasty too! (I made the eyes from royal icing and sticking a mini m&m in the middle)

I can't wait for Halloween

I love Halloween, this is the treat bucket I made for this year made it with some vinyl scraps I had around. (front and back views). The eyes I just made with a circle inside and oval. The "boo" cut is a few posts down available for you to have!

An Earring Makeover

I saw these ugly earrings on clearance at Kohl's and knew I could easily vinyl them and make a cute pair of Halloween earrings. (When Halloween is over, I can just peel off the vinyl and start with another design). I just put on the black stripe and orange polka dots.

Yummy apple pies

Here are the yummy apple pies I made with a friend. The minis are made by just putting a small round of pie crust in the bottom, then added small diced apples, cranberries, sugar and spices, topped it with crumble topping (bake at 400 about 30 minutes). I have to say the minis are wonderful and I will be making them for Thanksgiving and I'm sure many times before that. It is a little bite of pie and all of the flavors without the calories!

What's old is new Again...

Two years ago I blogged about Wordle.net. This is a great website where you can make your own word art, and this style of word art is so popular now. I love making cards from Wordle. They are so original and you can personalize them so well. Here are some cards I made with wordle.

How do you get your wordle creation to be on a card??? Once the wordle is done, I print it to my "cute PDF Writer" (it's a free application - cutepdf.com), which prints it to PDF format. Once I have it in PDF format, I then convert it to jpg format through this free converter(http://convert.neevia.com/pdfconvert/) . Once I have it in .jpg, I can do whatever I want with it, resize, etc...It's really not complicated...

Trays, Trays, Trays

I posted these on the message board, but wanted to share them here. I got a whole bunch of trays and chip n dip containers. The trays are great, and the perfect surface for vinyl. I want to sell them for kids too as snack trays or homework trays, or even to put on their dressers to keep things organized. I got them in lots of colors at the Christmas Tree Shop on clearance at about .50 each.

Make your own Magic Shell

Ok, this is kind of crafting...

Do you love Magic Shell, but think it is some weird scientific chemical reaction that can only be made in a factory. Well....I stumbled across this on the internet (but of course). This is how you make Magic Shell at home, and you can make any flavor, and experiment with adding different extracts and flavorings.
90 grams coconut oil
135 grams of chocolate

I found the coconut oil at my local grocery store in the organic foods section and I used just plain semi sweet chocolate chips

I have a food scale so I weighed the ingredients. I would guess its about 1/4 cup of oil and 1 cup of chocolate chips, but this is just a guess from sight. Just melt the 2 ingredients together in a pan on low, and you are done. This recipe makes 8 ounces, a perfect amount for a gift portion. Do not refrigerate, and shake before serving. It really is so good, and I can imagine some really good flavors - or using the white chocolate chips or the butterscotch chips too.

Bizarre huh?

Not my ideas, but cute...

Here is a cute idea from Parents.com. You can use regular vinyl on the clear cups before you put in greeen pudding or jello - how cute!

Here is a cute idea for a punch bowl too...

This is from Better Homes and Gardens

Getting Crafty with Fruit

Why not try Jack-O-Lantern oranges. Just cut and place regular vinyl right on the orange. Make lots of different faces and put them in a bowl! Or send them to the school party for the kiddies to take home. I used the font PUNKINHEADS to make the face.

A whole bunch of witches

Here are a bunch of witches great for cutting. Hopefully you can find one that suits your inner witch! (To get the graphics, right click on the one you want and "save as" - it will save as a JPG file and then you can trace it into SCAL. If you are not sure how to do that, directions are in the right hand column here of my blog.
