Awareness Ribbons

There are lots of questions about making an awareness ribbon with the Cricut. I have 2 versions. I like making a really soft ribbon with the "&" sign in George. Here are some pictures of cards I have made with this cut. And you can use the shadow feature as well to make the shadow of the cut. Another is a cut you can use if you have SCAL. The SVG file is shared in the right hand column as Awareness Ribbon 1.

Have SCAL2? Trace any image with these easy steps...really it's easy!

Images with little detail work the best - images in silhouette form, just black on white.

1. download a picture on your computer - usually if you see an image you can right click right on top of the image with your mouse, and then choose "save" or "save as" rename it if necessary - you can find images on blogs (my blog here too), websites, all over. Put it in a folder on your computer where you can remember. The image should be in the form of a .jpg or .bmp. I have a separate folder for scal files (and then I categorize my images by category)...

2. open scal 2 (this only works in scal2, don't have scal2? click on the link below to get it...)

3. click on the tree symbol (looks like an apple tree) a the top of the screen

4. it will bring up a search box, now find the file you saved, by clicking BROWSE.

5. once you click it and click OK , it will appear right on the scal screen, you can size and change it as needed.
